Overnight Shelter and Day Centers

Tacoma Pierce County Coalition to End Homelessness

Has daily information for shower and day centers, overnight shelters, and walk-in hours for agencies that can make referrals to housing resources.

Tacoma Homelessness Services

Provides location and information for City-Authorized emergency shelters, micro-shelter sites, safe parking locations, and coordinated entry.

 

Furniture Banks

Northwest Furniture Bank

Provides eligible households with gently used furniture (up to 9+ pieces) at reduced cost. Referral required.

 

Legal Aid for Eviction and Housing Discrimination

Human Rights Commission

Investigate discrimination in areas of employment, housing, accommodation, and credit & insurance issues.  Gives resources for support in these areas.

Fair Housing Center of Washington

Addresses unlawful housing discrimination in Western and Central Washington.

Northwest Justice Project

Provides free legal assistance for housing, healthcare, education, income security, and more. Eviction support is available.

Pierce County Eviction Protection

Helps eligible households pay past due rent and may help pay current and future rent.

Tacoma Pro Bono/Housing Justice Project 

Provides advice and support for those who have been served eviction notices.

 

Subsidized Housing Programs

HOPWA (Housing Options for People with AIDS)

Helps people living with HIV (PLWH) get stable housing.

Pierce County Housing Authority (PCHA)

Manages multiple housing programs across Pierce County, including the Housing Choice Voucher program (aka Section 8).

Tacoma Housing Authority (THA)

Manages multiple housing programs, including the Housing Choice Voucher program (aka Section 8) for Tacoma residents.

 

Youth and Young Adult Housing Programs

REACH Center

Assist youth aged 12-24 who are homeless or have unstable housing.
