Pierce County Roofers
Roofing and waterproofing
The Pierce County Roofers Apprenticeship Program trains apprentices in the roofing and waterproofing trade. Apprentices are employed by participating roofing contractors and learn both on the job and in the classroom, earning wages and benefits the whole time. There is no cost to become an apprentice.
The program partners with Clover Park Technical College for classroom instruction, and its apprentices have competed at the national level.

Northwest Line JATC
Powerline construction and maintenance
The Northwest Line Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee is a partnership between the IBEW and NECA that trains the workers who build and maintain the electrical grid. Apprentices work on crews across Washington, Oregon, northern Idaho and northern California.
Programs include the Line Construction, Powerline Clearance (tree trimming) and Substation Technician apprenticeships, plus the VOLTA pre-apprenticeship line school. The line apprenticeship is about 3.5 years of paid, on-the-job training with regular pay increases.
