Meet the Student Life Team
As Associate Dean of Student Success, Cal Erwin-Svoboda is responsible for the overall leadership and development of core student life services and functions. Cal has over 10 years of programming, leadership development and international travel experience in higher education and has been at CPTC since November 2013.
Cal has a bachelor's in Public Relations and Promotions from Gonzaga University a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs Administration from Western Washington University and is currently working on a doctorate in Educational Leadership at Seattle University.
As the Manager of Student Engagement, Jessica is responsible for the overall development, management, and operations of student-funded engagement programs and success initiatives, including the management of the Student Leadership & Service Center. Jessica has been with the department since March 2016.
Jessica is originally from New York and received her Bachelor’s from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oswego in Human Development. Most recently Jessica graduated with her Master’s Degree in Higher Education from Central Washington University in 2019.

As the Manager of Student Diversity Programs, Yuko is responsible for the overall development, management, and operations of the College's student multicultural programs and success initiatives including the management of the Center for Diversity, Inclusion and Civic Engagement (Spring 2021). Yuko has been with CPTC since 2002 working at the International Education Programs and joined the Student Life Team in 2021.
Yuko is originally from Japan and has been living in Washington State since 1995. Yuko received her bachelor's degree from the University of Washington Tacoma in Global Studies with a minor in Asian Studies.
As the Campus Life Program Assistant, Kristen provides administrative support to the following areas of campus: Department of Student Life, Hayes Child Development Center and Multicultural Student Services. Additionally, Kristen assists with the operations of three student-funded centers located in the Student Center, monitors program budgets, coordinates student hiring/payroll processes and serves as a general campus life advisor to CPTC students. Kristen joined the department in March 2021.
Kristen was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Washington Tacoma in Writing Studies with a minor in Applied Computing.
As the Manager of Student Health and Wellness, Rebecca will be responsible for the overall development, management and operations of student-funded health and wellness initiatives on campus, including the management of the Fitness Center, food security, transportation and housing initiatives and the development of student health and wellness experiences.
Rebecca is relocating from Lakeland, FL where she has been living for the past 13 years. Rebecca received her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in Health Education and Behavior with a minor in Mass Communication. Rebecca has also been a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) since 2019.
Rebecca will officially join the team on July 16, 2021.
