Verbalized Concerns

These are situations where a student or staff member *says something* that raises red flags:

Harm to SelfSuicide Ideation, Self-Harm (cutting, neglecting self-care, excess substance use, etc)
Harm/threats to OthersThreats of physical harm, emotional harm, verbal assaults
Academic StressFeeling significant distress over grades or teacher interactions
Housing/food insecurity that impacts academicsReports of performance being impacted by lack of access to basic needs
Racist/Sexist/Harassing commentsStating inappropriate racial, sexist or harassing comments to others or out in the ether

Observed or Witnessed Behaviors

These are behaviors noticed by staff or students that may require attention:

Inappropriate behaviorsTouching other students, making inappropriate comments towards others
Disruptive behaviorsTalking out of turn, being loud and obnoxious in class with aggressive commentary, causing conflict
Harmful behaviorsIntentionally targeting other student groups through passive commentary
Concerning assignment submissionsStudent indicating odd behavior or over-sharing in assignments that causes concern
Erratic behaviorImpulsive, unexpected behavior, that causes people to feel uncomfortable, incoherent conversations, tangents that aren’t related to subject matter, flight of thought
Behavior changesNoticing a student you are familiar with make drastic personality changes that cause concern
