National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA)
Can I be a CPTC student if I don't live in Washington State?
Yes! Many CPTC programs offer online courses. If you live anywhere in or outside of the United States, you can begin our application process today.
How does it work?
Clover Park Technical College is a part of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA), which makes it easier for students to take online or other distance education courses in different states. SARA membership helps to ensure that educational programs across the nation meet the same quality standards.
Current Address Information
All out-of-state students must provide CPTC with up to date information about the location where you are residing. If the information you provided when you enrolled has changed, please visit our student Contact Information page to provide your new address.
Professional Licenses and Certifications
Professional licensing and certification may vary from state to state. CPTC's programs meet the licensing requirements for Washington State. Students from outside Washington State who are interested in a career that requires a professional license or certification may have additional educational requirements outside of your program at CPTC. We have not determined if our programs fully satisfy the requirements for licensure in other states.
You can use the CareerOneStop License Finder to check on the licensing requirements for the state where you plan to work. You can also contact your CPTC program advisor for help with information about these requirements. Visit the sites below for other career-specific information:

Student Concerns or Complaints
Students residing outside of Washington State and enrolled in distance education courses may submit a complaint with the Washington Student Achievement Council after exhausting the institution’s complaint resolution process. The Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC) has authority to investigate student complaints against specific schools. WSAC may not be able to investigate every student complaint. Visit https://www.wsac.wa.gov/student-complaints for information regarding the WSAC complaint process.
