Our Commercial Driver's License (CDL) program can prepare you for a variety of rewarding careers, including Long-Haul Truck Driver, Local/Regional Delivery Driver, Flatbed & Specialized Freight Driver, Tanker Vehicle Operator, Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Driver, Bus & Passenger Transport Driver, Construction & Heavy Equipment Hauler, Dump Truck Operator, and Intermodal/Port Driver.
Paying for the CDL Program
The following information is meant for students entering the stand-alone CDL program at CPTC. This information applies only to the stand-alone CDL, not the CDL option that is part of the Lineworker and Arboriculture program. This is intended to provide general funding options and is subject to change depending on funding availability and individual student eligibility.

The stand-alone CDL program IS NOT ELIGIBLE for the following funding options:

Students are responsible for all tuition and fees associated with the CDL program.

The CDL program has multiple sessions planned.
Dates: 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/21, 5/28, 6/4
Location: Building 19, Room 207 from 2-4pm
Step 1: Meet with an Entry Coordinator
- Schedule and attend an intake appointment
- Review the CDL application process, eligibility requirements, required documents, and program information session schedule
- Ask questions and identify appropriate contacts for follow-up support
Step 2: Complete and Submit Your Application
- Submit a completed CDL Entry Application with all required supporting documentation, including:
- Valid Washington State driver's license
- Driving abstract - Get your driving record | Washington State Department of Licensing
- Drug screening information/results
- Proof of citizenship or lawful residency
- Program Information Session verification
- Any additional required documents

Step 3: Monitor Your Application Status
- Check your email regularly for application updates or requests for additional information
Step 4: Complete Enrollment Requirements After Approval
- Review and complete all enrollment and registration instructions provided by the college
- Resolve any registration holds or blocks and confirm enrollment in required CDL courses
- Ensure all final documentation, clearances, and drug screening requirements are completed prior to the program start date
Step 5: Prepare for Program Start
- Review your program map, class schedule, and onboarding information
- Monitor your student email for important updates and next steps
- Confirm you are fully cleared and prepared to begin the CDL program on the first day of class
