When organizations face workforce challenges, training is only one part of the answer. At Corporate Education, we build customized training programs that solve deeper problems — creating pipelines of qualified talent, speeding time-to-hire, and aligning learning to real operational needs.
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) approached Corporate Education looking for a tailored solution to address staffing shortages in key healthcare roles. Rather than offering a standard training package, we collaborated with VMFH to design programs that directly supported their hiring goals.
Working in partnership with the Allied Health Program and the Nursing Department at Clover Park Technical College, our teams created two distinct programs to target different workforce needs:
- Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) — a comprehensive non-credit 9-month program combining lab and classroom study, designed to prepare students for the technical, clinical, and safety demands of surgical support roles.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) — an intensive accredited 6-week course focused on essential patient care skills, preparing participants for rapid entry into bedside positions.
Both programs were developed with VMFH’s workforce priorities in mind. The CNA program was built to help participants transition quickly into VMFH facilities, filling critical vacancies. Meanwhile, the Surg Tech program offered a longer, more specialized pathway to strengthen their talent pipeline and ensure long-term staffing stability.

The results speak for themselves. On September 3rd, VMFH celebrated the graduation of 11 new CNAs, all of whom have since joined VMFH facilities. Just a few weeks later, on October 9th, five Surgical Technologists completed their 9-month program — and every graduate has already been hired within the VMFH network.
This collaboration demonstrates what sets Corporate Education apart. As part of a technical college, we have access to a wide range of academic departments, faculty experts, and training resources. That institutional leverage allows us to design solutions that are not just customized, but strategically aligned with employer needs — from healthcare to manufacturing, leadership, logistics, and beyond.
If you can imagine a training program that truly fits your organization, we can help you build it.
