We do it all; weddings, reunions, receptions, association gatherings, meetings, award ceremonies and even sporting events. If you can dream it, we can do it. The Ballroom, attached Atrium/Lobby and Outdoor Terrace are perfect for your next event. This modern and versatile building can accommodate both intimate gatherings and large groups, up to 1,200 people.

The facility’s warm and contemporary atmosphere comes equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia equipment, a four screen projection system, Wi-Fi and enough parking for attendees, all of which are included in your rental.

Located conveniently between Olympia and Seattle and just minutes from Interstate 5, the McGavick Conference Center is your most convenient, customizable and cost-effective option for your next small gathering or large group.


The Venue

Our 10,709+ square foot ballroom can be divided into three smaller spaces, and we also have an atrium and an outdoor terrace that are perfect for receptions and parties. We can do as many as 1,100 chairs and have 500+ free parking spaces.

Price List Rate Details

  • Four-hour minimum, Monday-Thursday and six-hour minimum (4-hours must be event time), Friday-Sunday.
  • Set-up/Tear Down & Access Time is $150 per hour, Monday-Thursday and $200 Friday-Sunday or the hourly rate note above, whichever is less.
  • The discounted rate (up to 20%) is available for government agencies and registered nonprofit organizations.
  • Deposit, Percent Down & Cancellation/Change of Date Policy

Meeting/Boardroom

In addition to the ballroom and Atrium/Lobby, the conference center features a boardroom and a classroom-sized meeting space, which are available to clients. These rooms are subject to availability.

Catering Kitchen

Our kitchen is available for rent at $100 per hour, for a minimum of 4 hours, Monday-Thursday and 6-hours Friday-Sunday. Additional time can be added. In order to qualify for the kitchen use, one of two criteria must be fulfilled:

  • Client must produce the information of their licensed caterer; or
  • Client must hire a licensed cleaning crew that will clean the kitchen following the event.

Any substantial cleaning that must be performed post-use by us may result in forfeiture of the damage deposit.

Technology/Audio Visual

We provide basic access to equipment. We do not provide additional on-site Audio Visual or Technology staffing. We strongly encourage those who need contracted A/V and Technology support to do so separately. We are not responsible for equipment incompatibility, malfunction or misuse.

Dance Floor

A dance floor is required if your event includes dancing inside the Ballroom. For an additional fee of $500, you may rent our dance floor.

The McGavick Conference Center is located on the campus at Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood, WA. On campus, the conference center can be found in Building 23 at the center of campus. Parking is available on the front (north) or back (south) of the conference center.

Traveling Northbound on Interstate-5

  • Take Exit 125 for Bridgeport Way SW
  • Turn left onto Bridgeport Way SW
  • Turn right onto Lakewood Dr SW
  • Turn right onto Steilacoom Blvd SW
  • Turn right onto Hageness Dr SW
  • McGavick Conference Center, Building 23 and parking is directly ahead

Traveling Southbound on Interstate-5

  • Take Exit 127 for SR 512 West (South Tacoma Way)
  • Turn right on to South Tacoma Way
  • Turn left on to Steilacoom Blvd
  • Turn left onto Hageness Dr SW
  • McGavick Conference Center, Building 23 and parking is directly ahead

If the event is during regular school days and hours, parking in front (north side) of the conference center may be limited. There is ample parking on the back (south side) of the McGavick Conference Center. To get to the back (south side) of the conference center, it’s essentially the same driving directions from Interstate-5 with the following differences once you turn onto Steilacoom Blvd SW:

Traveling Northbound on Interstate-5

  • Turn right onto Steilacoom Blvd SW
  • Turn left onto Lakeview Ave SW
  • Turn right onto Perimeter St SW
  • McGavick Conference Center, Building 23 will be on your right about ¼ mile

Traveling Southbound on Interstate-5

  • Turn right onto Steilacoom Blvd SW
  • Turn left onto Lakeview Ave SW
  • Turn right onto Perimeter St SW
  • McGavick Conference Center, Building 23 will be on your right about ¼ mile
