Computer Lab

Library & Computer Lab Hours for Summer Quarter:

While the Learning Resource Center is CLOSED during the Summer 2020 quarter, we offer the following computer, technology and eLearning support remotely:

Student Email and Wi-Fi Support
Students that need assistance with student email or wi-fi should contact Lili Cutler at lisa.cutler@cptc.edu or 253-589-5820.
She is available to provide remote assistance, Monday-Thursday between 7:30a-4:00p and email only support Friday between 7:30a-4:00p.

eLearning Support
Students that need assistance with Canvas and eLearning support should contact

Remote assistance will be available Monday-Friday between 7:30a-4:00p.

Help Desk for Computer Hardware
Chromebook Issues Students that need help with computer hardware and Chromebooks should contact 253.589.6020 or techhelp@student.cptc.edu.
This remote assistance, managed by the IT Department, is available Monday-Thursday, 8:00a-12:00p and Friday, 9:00a-12:00p.

 

The General Computer Lab is available for all Clover Park Technical College students during regular Library hours. The Computer Lab has 47 PCs and three Macs. There are eight additional computers in the library that may be used for school-related purposes only. All computers have internet access as well as access to Library resources such as the ProQuest, EBSCOHost, Ebrary ebooks, Credo Reference and WOIS online databases. All computers are connected to a printer.

Students must complete a Library Registration form (available at the circulation counter) prior to using computers

Please sign a computer login sheet prior to using a computer. There is a login sheet at the Computer Lab desk and another in the Library near the bank of computers.

All Library policies and procedures are enforced in the Computer Lab.

A computer technician is available to assist with general computer or software related questions. 

Computer technicians and library staff are not experts on all operating systems and software programs but will do their best to assist you. 

Staff cannot trouble personal computers, laptops, tablets or other technology devices.

Most Library/Lab computers have the following software:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Internet Explorer
  • Firefox
  • Hawkes Mathematics
  • Adobe Reader
  • Quicktime

Printing in the Computer Lab and Library

Printing and copying require an account in Papercut.  See a Computer Lab Tech Staff for help with setting up an account.

Black and white copies/prints are 5¢ per page, 3¢ for duplex. Color copies/prints are available in the Computer Lab only. Color printing is 10¢ per page,8¢ for duplex.

The printers also function as scanners.  Documents are scanned as a PDF or jpeg and sent to an email account. There is no charge to use the scanner function on the printers but a printing code is required to access the scanning feature.
