How Do I Pick-up My Financial Aid Check?
Starting Summer Quarter 2008, in order to receive your
financial aid check, you are required to verify that you are attending classes.
You must have the Attendance Verification form completed by your instructor(s) and bring it with you
when you come to claim your check at the Cashier’s Office in Building 17, or in the Administration Office at
South Hill Campus.

Verification form.
General
Information
The College position is that students should not be denied access to an
education because of lack of money. The primary responsibility for an education rests with students and their
families. However, if their combined financial resources are not sufficient to cover expenses, students could
be eligible for financial aid.
Student financial aid is
provided through individualized "financial aid packages" consisting of funds provided by grants, loans,
employment and scholarships. The packages are a combination of federal, state, institutional, and community
resources. Financial aid at CPTC is awarded within federal, state, and institutional guidelines. No student is
denied aid on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, national origin, or physical handicap.
For Financial Aid information call (253) 589-5660.

a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Students enrolled in programs with high book,
supply and/or tool costs may want to consider applying for a Stafford Loan. Plan ahead, you may need
to cover these costs initially because loan funds cannot be disbursed for the first 30 days of the
quarter.
Determining Need
The amount of assistance students receive is based on the demonstrated
"need."
School Costs - Resources = Need
Financial need is defined as the difference between educational expenses (tuition, lab
fees, books, supplies, room and board, personal and transportation) and the amount the student and his/her
family can afford to pay as determined by the information on the Financial Aid Application.
