Job description changes are triggered by:

  1. Any change in duties.
  2. Any type of reclassification.

Process when change in job description required:

  1. Supervisor will contact VP of Human Resources regarding any changes of job description.
  2. Supervisor will be sent the current job description and required to update, making changes on copy.
  3. Supervisor will identify the essential function(s) and secondary functions of the job.
  4. The VP for Human Resources will determine if a reclassification is applicable.

Definition

Essential Function: The most critical tasks of the job. There are duties that justifies the existence of the position.

Secondary Functions: There are duties that are subordinate to the essential tasks. These duties, if not accomplished would not have an immediate negative impact.
