Job description changes are triggered by:
- Any change in duties.
- Any type of reclassification.
Process when change in job description required:
- Supervisor will contact VP of Human Resources regarding any changes of job description.
- Supervisor will be sent the current job description and required to update, making changes on copy.
- Supervisor will identify the essential function(s) and secondary functions of the job.
- The VP for Human Resources will determine if a reclassification is applicable.
Definition
Essential Function: The most critical tasks of the job. There are duties that justifies the existence of the position.
Secondary Functions: There are duties that are subordinate to the essential tasks. These duties, if not accomplished would not have an immediate negative impact.
