Online Course Offerings for Fall 2016

Online, hybrid and enhanced classes will use Canvas to access those courses. 

What is Canvas? Canvas is the online tool that Clover Park uses to support your online, hybrid and web-enhanced courses.  Use Canvas to view course content, such as course syllabus and handouts, submit assignments, view grades, or participate in online discussions, and take online exams and quizzes.

Skills necessary upon entering your Canvas courses for Online, Hybrid, or Web Enhanced Course offerings

Students in an online, hybrid, or web enhanced class should have the basic ability to:

  • access and navigate websites
  • download and upload files
  • send attachments
  • save and upload files in word processing formats (.doc, or .docx) or other course appropriate formats
  • copy and paste text from files on a computer to text boxes within a web browser

Students in an online, hybrid, or enhanced class should have reliable access to:

  • Computer
  • Printer
  • Internet

The Computer Lab in The Learning Resource Center, Building 15, is also available to complete coursework.

Registration for Online Classes

If you experience problems with the registration process, please call Student Enrollments, @ 253.589.5666.  eLearning only manages the Canvas Learning Management System and does not register you or cannot assist you with problems that may arise in the registration process.

To view the Online offerings Fall 2016 please go to http://www.cptc.edu/schedule/view.php and filter for Online.

New student accounts will created on September 1 for Fall 2016 Quarter.

To start your class, please go to https://cptc.instructure.com

Username = Student Identification Number (SID)
Password = the first 6 letters of your last name, repeat from beginning if less than 6

Password Example: Williams=willia / Reed=reedre / Lee=leelee

*Important! Your Canvas username will always be your student ID number.

Classes will open on the first day of the quarter unless your instructor opens them early.

Learn to Use Canvas

Fall 16 On-Campus Orientation: Building 15, Room 108 (approximately 45 - 50 minute)

September 26th and 27th:  1pm or 3pm

An Online version of our Orientation is available once your Canvas account has been created.  Click on the Online Student Orientation link from your recent activity page once you have logged onto Canvas.  Click "Enroll in Class", then click the "Enter Course" option and the orientation will open.  Here find you will find a Student Orientation to Canvas, Support numbers, and important  resources to help you be successful in your Canvas classes. This course will always be available to you once you enroll.

*The Computer Applications Program (CAS) uses the Canvas for orientation to class. You will use MY IT LAB for your actual course work in most of these classes.  Please check inside your Canvas classrooms for an orientation schedule or check your email for a welcome message with face-to-face orientation instructions for Westerberg CAS Arranged & Online classes.  Email: rosalie.westerberg@cptc.edu for additional help with CAS classes.
