April 25 to 29

For Monday

Read chapter 8. This week, we will be working with persuasive messages.

Tuesday and Wednesday

We will be working through the steps of creating a persuasive message in class. In the meantime, you should be working on your own persuasive piece.

For Thursday

Your persuasive piece is due today. For the piece, choose one of the following exercises in your book, starting on page 282: 2 through 11, 13, 14, 16 through 19. If you wish, you may write a real life persuasive piece.

Bring two copies of the finished exercise to class for a peer edit.

For Friday

Revised persuasive piece due

Bring your final persuasive piece along with your planning sheet and other preliminary work to class. I will provide you with a planning sheet early in the week.

I will be asking for 5 volunteers to present their pieces to the class, and to discuss the planning and writing process. I will need to confirm volunteers by Thursday. Don’t worry – you will all have a chance to do this.
