I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications in 2004. I then decided to further my education in Web Design at Clover Park Tech and am so glad I did. I learned many things at UW, but nothing I could really use in the real world. Clover Park Tech and the instructors I had there taught me more than I ever learned at UW as far as technical and usable knowledge for real world jobs. As I finish my last quarter at CPTC, I currently am working part time for a small business in Seattle called Hosted Concepts and do web design including PHP coding and graphic design, thanks to my education from CPTC.
My web instructors I had at Clover Park Tech, Mark Webster and Bruce Dague, taught me so much about web design, both coding and graphic. I have come a long way since starting at CPTC and am much more confident in finding a full time career than I was after graduating from UW. The knowledge I have gained at CPTC will be invaluable to my future career path in web design.

I have a degree in elementary education, a minor in art education and a Master of Science in Education and have worked in the education field for over 20 years in a variety of settings. After a long and rewarding experience in education I decided to take my creativity and energy in a different direction. After looking at the many programs offered in the Tacoma area, I found Clover Park Technical College to have the most comprehensive, hands-on curriculum for web design.
With the completion of a degree in Media Design/Web Design, I started my own business and have been creating websites and graphic designs for small businesses in the Tacoma, WA area. With each project, I create for my clients custom designed websites that reflect the essence of the business or organization I’m designing for.
I owe my working knowledge and success to the course work and outstanding instruction I received at CPTC! I am thankful that CPTC offered a comprehensive core program allowing me to develop a varied skill set and working knowledge of current software programs.
