USGBC Students

Purpose
Representing college- and university-based groups of students from all disciplines, USGBC Students is a way for hundreds of young leaders to come together and participate in hands-on green building experiences on their own campuses through service initiatives. USGBC helps students integrate sustainability themes into their coursework and advocate for sustainable university practices and policies.

  • LEED online courses - Take advantage of complimentary access to LEED 101, Green Building Basics, LEED 201 and LEED Core Concepts and Strategies.
  • Webcasts - Receive complimentary access to member webcasts.
  • LEED workshops - Attend most LEED workshops at a reduced student rate of $150.
  • Get involved in a USGBC chapter. This is you opportunity to get connected to local green building experts and resources in your community. USGBC has 79 chapters and affiliates across the country and students are actively involved in chapter activities. Leadership training opportunities abound, and most chapters offer student discounts for membership and chapter events.
  • Access LEED reference guides and publications.
  • Experience Greenbuild. Students can attend Greenbuild, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building, for a special 50 percent discounted rate of $300.

The U.S. Green building Council’s LEED green building rating system is the preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of green buildings. 45,000 commercial and residential projects are currently participating in the LEED system, comprising over 7.1 billion square feet of construction space in all 50 states and 114 countries.
