If you're experiencing log-in issues, you may need to use the following password format: YYYYMMDD. You can also contact a computer technician located in the Library (building15) or call 253-589-5820.
New email accounts will be created within two business days after you register in classes.
Log on access to each mailbox requires a username and password.
Your username is composed of your last name (in lower-case) as recorded in the Registrar's office, and the last four digits of your CPTC Student ID number (SID not SSN).
Your default password is your date of birth (DOB), as recorded in the Registrar's office. Enter your DOB as Year, Month, Day. Like this: YYYYMMDD. We recommend you change your password at your earliest opportunity to prevent misuse of your email account.
Google has recently reset their password requirements which impacted some of our student accounts. If you're experiencing log on issues, you may need to use the following password format: 19YYMMDD
If you experience difficulty logging in, please check your records to verify that your last name and DOB as recorded with the Registrar's office are accurate.
If you did not provide your DOB when you registered, your password will be set to "080101".
For example if a student named George Washington (DOB: 22 Feb 1732) had an SID of 974-12-3456, then his logon would be:
Checking the "Remember me on this computer" option is not recommended. Activating this option could allow anyone using that computer to access your mailbox.
If "remember me" has been enabled, here is how to disable it.
It is important that you change your Gmail account password at your earliest opportunity, to prevent misuse of your college mail account.
If you already have an email account that you would prefer to use, you may forward your Gmail messages to that address.
