COMPASS is an un-timed, computerized, reading, writing, and math skills assessment. It is not a pass fail test, but is designed to place students in the appropriate English, Math and Psychology courses. If you do not finish testing 5 minutes prior to the end of the test session, you will be required to return within 30 days to complete the test.
COMPASS Testing is provided on a first come, first served basis. The Assessment Center is equipped with 14 computers; you may have to wait for an available computer.
Please pay the non-refundable fee of $19.00 at the cashier’s window in Building 17. The test is provided in Building 17, Room 210. Picture ID is required. Visit the Information Desk located in Building 17 for a temporary parking pass.
Disability Accommodations: Students will need to see Valerie Sundby, Student Disabilities Specialist, prior to testing, to arrange for any necessary accommodations. Documentation is required.
Retesting: Students are allowed one free retest.
Ability to Benefit: Students who do not have a High School diploma or a GED and are applying for Financial Aid must meet the following minimum scores to qualify for aid: Writing–32; Reading-62; Numerical–25. Re-testing requires a 90-day waiting period for students who do not have a high school diploma or GED.
