1. The International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 286 and the CPTC Administration’s goals of the assessment program is focused on outcome learning, improvement, and growth of the individual and the college. To accomplish these goals it is imperative that the IUOE staff member (hereinafter called “employee”) and his or her supervisor establish a communication process where goals, periodic “snapshots” (assessment), and official assessments are conducted. It is the supervisor’s and employee's responsibility to ensure the process satisfies the spirit of the assessment program.

3. The supervisor and the employee will ensure that the assessment form is completed and has all required signatures. The Vice President for Human Resources and Employee Relations will monitor the assessment forms to ensure compliance with the negotiated agreement.
4. The assessment contains four (4) categories: 1) Achievement of Goals 2) Professional Behavior 3) Technical Skills 4) Learning/Improvement. Each category (except category 1) consist of statements that are assessed as Strongly Agree, Agree, Somewhat Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree. The supervisor will select only one assessment per statement. Creating “in-between assessments” among the listed assessments is not authorized. Summative assessment by supervisor is mandatory. Although employee comments are optional the employee is encouraged to provide comments.
