Dan's Work experience in the Agriculture Industry spans more than 30 years. Dan has been with the Landscape Management program since its inception. After designing and implementing Ornamental Horticulture in the Clover Park School district, Dan pursued Adult Education specializing in Greenhouse and Nursery applications, Construction, Design, Equipment Operation and Irrigation with then Clover Park Vocational Technical Institute. As the program developed at the existing Fort Lewis Campus site Dan developed what has become the Landscape Management program which specializes in Residential Design and Installation.

Program Information

The Landscape Management program participated in designing the 'New Look and Vision for the main CPTC campus in Lakewood, from streetscape renewal, to many of the current on campus structures. The program has also been involved with the Lakewood Beautification projects for the community, including streetscapes and landscaping the new YMCA. After partnering with the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals, the new certification program was introduced and site designed by students in 1990, the first certification tests were held in 1991 and 1992. From this the current Landscape Management program was introduced specializing in Residential Design and Installation.

The Landscape Management program confers an Associate of Applied Technology degree. The degree is also available with a Horticulture Option.
