Scott A. Claeys
Scott A. Claeys serves as the primary officer for legacy, estate and trust gifts to the Foundations of MultiCare in Tacoma, Washington. The Foundations include Good Samaritan, Mary Bridge Children’s and MultiCare Health all serving the non-profit MultiCare Health System. Scott has over 20 years of non-profit fund raising experience in large and small organizations from the arts, education, health and human services and the past six years in health care.
Scott received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. He received the financial designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) from The American College and also completed his Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation. He is an alumnus of the 2007 Tacoma/Pierce County Leadership class and a six year member of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy.
Scott is a board member and volunteer administrative director of the non-profit China Partners Network, where pediatric doctors and therapists, primarily from MultiCare, are training pediatric doctors and therapists in China on how to care for children with neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy. He is an executive committee member of Leave 10 a Washington non-profit dedicated to promoting legacy gifts, encouraging people to leave at least 10 percent of their estate to charity. He also serves on the local board of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning.
