Profile: Michael Buschmohle
Michael Buschmohle (bush mole), President of Applause Associates since 1981, trains people around the world to communicate confidently. Author, artist, cartoonist, college instructor in the U.S. and China, he’s also a speech writer and media coach whose clients have appeared on Oprah, Good Morning America, and the Today show. In the past 32 years, he has videotaped 16,000 presentations of clients he has coached and trained. He writes speeches for CEOs, mayors, government officials, physicians and medical directors. He’s a former speech writer for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Washington State. He has conducted communications training in 8 countries, 40 states, and more than 150 cities worldwide. He holds a BA in Philosophy and an Masters degree in Theology.
Michael specializes in workshops on presentation skills and communication for clients such as the City of Seattle (for the past 28 years), Boeing, United Way, Microsoft, Starbucks, Puget Sound Energy, Wells Fargo, T-Mobile, Walmart, Health units in Canada, the FAA, and FEMA and the US Department of Homeland Security. He’s an instructor for Bellevue College, Everett Community College, and for City University of Seattle, for the past 12 years he has taught an MBA communications seminar in China. He was selected by the organizers of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing to teach them presentation skills.
Coauthor of The Effective Executive’s Guide to PowerPoint 2002 and a booklet on job interviewing. For 10 years he worked in healthcare as a psychiatric aide, houseparent, and as Director of Training at Herrick Medical Center in Berkeley. He’s a former Roman Catholic priest and monk who left the priesthood to marry and raise a family. He is currently writing a book on public speaking for women, called: How to Speak So Well, Even Men Will Listen.
