TRANSITIONING TO PROFESSIONAL NURSING I

Introduces the practicing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to the role differentiation between the LPN and the Registered Nurse (RN). This course provides the foundations of critical thinking, the change process, role transition, and provides further knowledge of the nursing process. Introduction to the concept of the RN as provider of care, manager of care, and member of a professional discipline. Prerequisites: Student must be a Washington State LPN with an unrestricted license, and must have completed 500 hours of employment as an LPN. Prerequisites: Admission to ADN program.
