Focuses on use of the nursing process in care of clients with selected health disturbances. Emphasis is given to psychological, sociocultural, and developmental factors. Pharmacologic and nutritional consideration and client teaching are integrated. Prerequisites: NURS 102, 109, 112, 113, 115, 119, 120, 124, 125, 128, 130, 132, 135.
Learning Outcomes:- Understand the pathology, etiology, signs & symptoms, medical management, pharmacological treatment and nursing implications for respiratory disorders.
- Understand the pathology, etiology, signs & symptoms, medical management, pharmacological treatment and nursing interventions for cardiac disorders.
- Describe the pathology, etiology, signs & symptoms, pharmacological treatment, medical management and nursing interventions appropriate for a client with diabetes mellitus.
