HIV/AIDS & BLOOD BOURNE PATHOGENS

Increases students’ knowledge of HIV/AIDS & blood-borne pathogens. Students will gain knowledge of the history of HIV/AIDS and related issues. Provides ten hours of HIV/ AIDS training in the areas of transmission, occupational safety, and standard precautions.
Learning Outcomes:- Detail etiology, epidemiology, common symptoms, treatment modalities, and psychosocial/socio-cultural effects associated with Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
- Correctly identify standard precautions and their practical applications in the human services work environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Blood Bourne Pathogens.
