EFS 106
AC/DC ELECTRICITY: SERIES PARALLEL & COMBINATION CIRCUITS
7CR
Introduces the student to voltage, current, and resistance in a series circuit, total values, and control of current in a series circuit. Introduction to parallel circuits, current and resistance, and voltage in a parallel circuit. Prerequisites: EFS 105, or Instructor's permission.
Learning Outcomes:- Upon the completion of chapter five and the end of the chapter test, the student will demonstrate the ability to calculate total current, total resistance and total voltage in a parallel circuit.
- Upon the completion of chapter six and at the end of chapter test, the student will demonstrate the ability to solve parallel series circuits, series parallel circuits, line drop and electrical distribution systems.
- Upon the completion of chapter seven and end of chapter test, the student will demonstrate the ability to solve for power in a simple circuit, combine unlike terms, total power in an electrical circuit, solve the power formula for current or voltage, and solve exponential power formulas.
- Upon the completion of chapter eight and the end of the chapter test, the student will demonstrate the ability to combine like terms, combine unlike terms, solve algebraic equations, solve equations by transposition and cross multiplication, and combine unlike involving signed numbers.
