What Is A Parent Cooperative Preschool?

An enriched preschool experience for the children and a challenging educational program for the parents are the goals of the Parent Cooperative Preschool.

A group of preschoolers listening to a story.

Each school is a non-profit group organized and governed by the parents. The preschoolers attend several mornings or afternoons each week. Classes have an average of 16 children. Children ages 3-5 are eligible. Each school sets its own fees to cover cost of supplies, rent and teacher's salary. By sharing the work and expenses, the preschool tuition is relatively low.

A parent education instructor from Clover Park Technical College participates with the parents in monthly meetings and acts as a resource person to the teacher and parents during the preschool sessions.

All Preschools admit students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin.
