Massage Studies
Promoting excellence in the massage profession
Massage is an exciting and fulfilling career.
Practitioners come from all walks of life, all ages, and all cultural backgrounds, bringing a variety of life experiences to the profession.
Massage can be a part-time or full-time profession. It can be practiced at your home, in an office, clinic, hospital, cruise
ship, resort, spa, gymnasium, or just about anyplace.
What all successful massage therapists have in common is a desire to bring safe, therapeutic and healing touch to the people around them.
In Washington State, massage is licensed under the Department of Health, and Licensed
Massage Practitioners (LMPs) are health care providers. As such, massage is covered under most insurances, workman’s compensation and personal injury claims.
The demand for competent, skilled Licensed Massage Practitioners continues to grow. As more and more people are learning about the benefits of massage,
more employers are looking to incorporate massage therapy in their businesses.
Here
at Clover Park Technical College, we strive to empower our students to achieve
their Massage Career goal. Our program goes far beyond the minimum state
requirements, focusing not only on different massage strokes and styles,
but also the knowledge and skills needed to be a successful and practicing
Licensed Massage Practitioner. Our instructors are themselves successful
Licensed Massage Practitioners, with years of experience both in the industry
and as teaching professionals. Teaching techniques are creative and varied
addressing a wide variety of learning styles.
As a public school, Clover Park can offer you nearly twice the amount of training at less than half the cost of many private schools.
In addition to the excellent education our successful students receive,
they also benefit from campus services and activities available to them as Clover Park Technical College Students.
Please refer to our main campus web site for information regarding such services as:
on-campus day-care center, student government, student clubs and activities,
Advising and Counciling, scholarships, grants and financial aid. Graduates from our program
are employed in spas, hospitals and successful private practices.
