Computer and Information Systems Security
Program Overview
The Computer & Information Systems Security (CISS)
program awards a student an Associate of Applied Technology Degree
when program requirements are met. This 1991 – 2002 clock hour program
is approximately six quarters in length, depending on the time
students need to satisfactorily complete all graduation requirements.
Included in this program are academic courses in communication
(English composition, speech), quantitative reasoning (math) and
social sciences (Psychology, Sociology) that provide knowledge
and abilities upon which technical skills are built and enhance
personal development.
The foundation of the program is presented during the
first four quarters. Each quarter builds upon the information and skills
learned from the previous quarter. A detailed description can be found

completing the requirements for the core of the CISS program,
student choose one of four specialties to complete the requirements for
the Associate of Applied Technology Degree.

2. Computer and Communications Security
3. Network Security, Firewalls, and Detection Systems
4. Windows Operating Systems and Security
